For Carrie Goff, embroidery is more than a craft – it’s a thread that runs through her personal history, creative process, and daily life. Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, Carrie creates under the name Carrie Goff Designs, producing richly textured and strikingly original 3D embroidery that celebrates both the natural world and the emotional complexities of motherhood.
“My mother, Carole, first taught me embroidery as a child,” Carrie says. “She had a box of craft supplies and kits that she would pull out on rainy days. I did a lot of cross stitch with her, and other types of crafts as well – even macramé. Later, I picked up painting and drawing, which I continued into adulthood.”
