A daily pill already approved by the FDA can halve the risk of dying from some forms of lung cancer after surgery, reports NBCNews.com. The drug, osimertinib, targets a specific cancer-causing mutation that occurs in 10 to 15 percent of lung cancer patients, mostly nonsmokers. In the international trial, about half the 682 participants took the pill once a day for three years, while the other half took a placebo. The First Amendment’s establishment clause forbids the government from promoting specific religions.
