NEWS See what’s going down in the world of fast Fords... FIESTA ST IS HERE! The order books recently opened on the much-anticipated Mk8 Fiesta ST, with prices starting under £19,000. ST-1 spec is available at this price, offering selectable driving modes, Recaro seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and uprated ST suspension, along with all the toys: electric heated door mirrors, SYNC3 DAB radio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control and Lane-Keeping Alert. Levelling up to ST-2 (£19,995 3-door; £20,645 5-door) adds climate control, heated seats, premium B&O audio and an 8in touchscreen, while ST-3 spec (£21,495 3-door; £22,145 5-door) gets 18in wheels, red brake calipers, sat-nav, rain-sensing wipers and the Driver Assistance pack. WHAT'S NEW NEW STUFF The latest gear on the Blue Oval scene QUAIFE FOCUS RS/ST SEQUENTIAL GEARBOX £TBC Quaife have been manufacturing FWD sequential gearkits for Fords for some time now, catering for cars that run the IB5 gearbox (Ka, Mk4-6 Fiesta, Puma, Mk1-2 Focus, etc), and the exciting news this month is that they’ve developed a setup for cars which use the MMT6 ’box. We’re looking at you, Mk3 ST and RS owners! The new QBE46Z 5-speed sequential gearbox is built and ready for testing, featuring a heavy-duty billet casing suitable for the RS’s AWD system. The gearkit uses the existing bellhousing along with the OEM clutch, differential, driveshafts and mounts, so it won’t be a hassle to fit, and it features a strengthened outer casing, next-gen gearchange mechanism…
