EVERYONE WHO KNOWS ME is aware that I'm no athlete. I spent my adolescence feigning ailments to get out of gym class, and while I now go in for the occasional Pilates session, years have passed without my darkening a gym's doorway. It's fitting that I ended up in fashion—though Fashion Week is its own kind of Olympics, the industry isn't known for its close relationship with sports. However, that changed on this season's runways, as designers paid homage to athletics with all manner of sleek, sportif accessories.
