I’M ALWAYS EXCITED to see beautiful clothes, but the Fall 2015 collections were a special thrill. The world’s wildest color combinations at Prada, Chloé’s bohemian rhapsody, Erdem’s staggeringly lovely dresses, and Altuzarra’s sultry swans were all highlights, and Proenza Schouler’s fine-feathered finale gowns made for a masterful crescendo. And don’t get me started on Valentino. The collection, which was inspired in part by Gustav Klimt companion Emilie Flöge, was artfully breathtaking in more ways than one. You guys always seem to have your finger on the pulse of what’s new, exciting, and surprising in fashion. How do you approach the creative parts of your job? HUMBERTO LEON: We always try to tell a story through what we do and to approach everything both as the viewer and as the consumer. Culture is a big part of what we do, and we always refer back to it.
