Our floral fixation even drew us to New York’s Times Square, where a not-so-secret garden was planted to celebrate Alessandro Michele’s first fragrance for Gucci, aptly named Bloom (page 124). From there we blasted off into the future, with statement pieces in lustrous silver that are all the rage (page 118). When I joined Harper’s Bazaar as editor in chief 16 years ago, I dreamed of one day throwing the most wonderful party to which everyone was invited. I finally got my wish this spring, with gala events to celebrate Bazaar’s 150th anniversary. Marking such a momentous milestone was going to require something truly monumental, like emblazoning the iconic Empire State Building with some of the magazine’s most unforgettable photographs. Which is exactly what we did during our party at the historic Rainbow Room, cohosted by Tiffany & Co. BAZAAR’S 150TH-ANNIVERSARY BASH In an extravagant and (dare we say?) historic feat, Harper’s Bazaar and Tiffany & Co. toasted the magazine’s 150th birthday by splashing 500-foot-tall projections of some of its most iconic images onto the Empire State Building this past spring. Among the more than 500 guests who turned out to soak in the views at New York’s Rainbow Room were previous cover stars KENDALL JENNER, who sparkled in a plunging Redemption gown; IMAN, in an eye-catching olive jumpsuit by Brandon Maxwell; and DEMI MOORE, who kept things contemporary in a high-waisted leather skirt straight off the Monse runway. Meanwhile, CAROLINA HERRERA exuded elegance in head-to-toe black, and GABRIELA HEARST and TORY BURCH wore rich, textured styles they designed themselves.…
