I must say that I’m thrilled that Danielle Kang graces the cover of our summer issue, Kang is a great role model for women’s sport in general and (obviously) an extremely talented pro golfer. In other news, we caught up with Steph Kyriacou to chat about her 2021 season and also asked the team at Ladies Golf Magazine to recommend their favourite public courses just for you. Now that travel options are finally looking more likely we decided to showcase regional areas of note. Please read our golf guides for the South Coast / Southern Highlands and also the Byron Shire and get planning your next golf holiday. As always, our industry experts have provided us with key instructional articles and for beginner golfers our contributing PGA Pros have written…
THIS is the topic of the Golf Australia strategy conference several weeks ago. As I mentioned in our last issue, I’m blown away and excited to be part of an industry that supports each other and this sport. I was honoured to be invited to this year’s conference where Golf Australia, the PGA and the WPGA hosted an event with over 250 delegates. CEOs, decision makers and media spoke openly about the great game of golf. It was a 2 day workshop where we all had an opportunity to discuss our concerns, ideas and most importantly the wonderful growth golf has experienced through Covid. Maintaining the growth is the next challenge. The pandemic has presented opportunities to stay local and as restrictions lift, connecting with our communities. From this conference…

When Jenny first turned pro, she claims she would have been voted the “player least likely to succeed.” In fact, she heard on the golfing grapevine that a leading amateur golf administrator stated that she would never make a cent from professional golf! Over her debut year on the LET, she proved those doubters to be right. However, not long after…
SINCE its inception in 2011 the Cognizant Founders Cup has been largely overshadowed by other LPGA tournaments, specifically, the major championships which is unfortunate, because it is as significant as any of the majors. The tournament is not just a competition but a celebration of the LPGA’s past and, most importantly, a salute to the 13 courageous women who launched the organisation more than seven decades ago and put it on a path to become the global entity it is today. It would be difficult for anyone under a certain age to appreciate the challenges the Founders endured to realise their dreams of playing golf for a living. Purses were miniscule. The total prize fund in 1950 (the LPGA’s first season) was $50,000 USD, or an average of $3,571 per…
