It never ceases to amaze me − even after more than 40 years in the industry − that campervan converters keep coming up with new ways of filling the small space inside a panel van. The Robeta Schumacher Edition certainly had a shock factor with its price (£279,359), but then I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a van conversion with a wine cooler and a dishwasher before. What really impressed me, though, was the electric drop-down bed, which seems bigger than you’d think possible in a van. Watch the video at motorhome.ma/review337 to see it in action! Those on a more restricted budget − and looking for a more compact camper − can find two unusual medium-wheelbase Fiat Ducato conversions in this issue. Consort Motorhomes is best known for its…
The 2025 Caravan Camping & Motorhome Show, which ran from 18 to 23 February, recorded over 89,000 visitors across six days, with some of the manufacturers and dealers there saying that they experienced higher than expected sales figures. Adria, for example, said sales increased by 20% compared to last year’s show, while both dealers and manufacturers commented on the high level of new and existing customers showing interest in new vehicles. Karen Dodd, Marketing Director at NCC (National Caravan Council) Events, said, “It’s been encouraging to see such enthusiasm from both visitors and exhibitors. We’re delighted to have welcomed thousands of enthusiasts to the show, as well as introducing the benefits of ownership to those visiting for the first time, right at the start of their leisure vehicle and camping…
BÜRSTNER’S Lyseo TD Gallery range is a low-profile with a difference. A BIG difference. Press a button and it becomes more like an overcab coachbuilt – but with a BIGGER overcab alcove than would ever be possible if it was a permanent fixture. Here, the overcab is an inflatable upstairs bedroom that really is up stairs – no flimsy ladder in sight! It’s an award-winning and unique design (Hymer’s Venture S shares some of the design and technology but at a much higher price point) and, with the overcab bedroom folded down, it looks like a typical Bürstner low-profile. It takes just 90 seconds to make the transformation with the aid of compressed air and a specially developed air chamber system while, as the roof rises vertically, there is no…
FOR many this is the holy grail of motorhomes, something not much bigger than a campervan to drive but with no lack of living space on the inside. A sort of Tardis on wheels. And Bürstner has been building vehicles like this since 2011, the latest being the Lyseo TD 594 Harmony Line. The Lyseo TD is Bürstner’s bread and butter – a line-up that includes single bed and island bed floorplans, even rear lounges, with a price and spec that is far from entry-level but not too premium, either. But, while the rest of this range is from 6.89m to 7.36m in length, the 594 is much more compact at a whisker under six metres. In everything but size, this is a typical Bürstner motorhome with a continuous insulated…
CONSORT Motorhomes has built up an enviable reputation for rear lounge two-berth campervans designed with practicality as the watchword and several of its models have featured previously in these pages. Last autumn, however, it embarked on a new option for those seeking the comfort of a fixed bed combined with extra storage and we saw one of the first examples – this Nova FB – at the January Motorhome & Campervan Sale at Stoneleigh. Just as with Consort’s rear lounge layouts, there are fixed bed floorplans in the three different lengths of Fiat/Peugeot van – 5.41m, 5.99m and 6.36m. The Nova is the smallest, based on the medium-wheelbase panel van, and the only one with a transverse double bed. The longer Reef FS and Oslo FS have lengthways single beds…
THE D68 is based on the extra-long Fiat Ducato, at 6.36m, and it adopts the popular rear single bed layout that is so often seen in this size of campervan. It’s an established model (closely related to the Rapido V68 from the parent company) but this is the first time it has been offered with a pop-top – that’s the ‘Up’ suffix in the name. As for ‘Saphir’ that’s new, too, and represents an increased level of specification. Saphir spec (which is also offered on 2025-season D55 and Camper Van XL models) replaces the previous Limited versions. It includes a Skyview panoramic overcab sunroof as standard, along with Natural (featuring matt black accessories) or Serenity interior décor and Dakota upholstery (optional Patagonia or Toscane). Bodywork comes in either Iron Grey…
