Do you want, or need, four-wheel drive? That’s a question that a lot of motorhome and campervan buyers must be asking, if the latest trends are anything to go by. Hymer has become quite a specialist in the sector, with its CrossOver models − and now CrossTrail, too. You can see the 4x4 newcomer in this issue and in our video of the recent Caravan Salon Düsseldorf − watch my tour of the show at motorhome.ma/csd2025 Conversely, an increasing number of campervans seem to be wearing off-road-style rubber, which might be sufficient if you want to cross a grassy field, rather than the Sahara. Indeed, experience earlier this year with Bailey’s new Endurance campervan on rough gravel roads in Spain suggests that the right tyres are all most of us…
2026 NEW MODELS PREMIUM campervan manufacturer, Globe-Traveller, has announced a number of innovations for the coming season, starting with a revised version of its Volkswagen Crafterbased Falcon XS. KITCHEN IN TWO PARTS The smallest Falcon model now has a shorter sidefacing settee on the nearside (opposite the sliding door), enabling the kitchen to be moved towards the rear, where it now straddles both sides of the aisle. The redesigned layout, which retains a washroom across the rear of this six-metre ’van, is said to increase living space in the vehicle. It also eases access to the washroom at night. EVO GETS BETTER BACKSIDE Meanwhile, there’s a new Evo version of Globe-Traveller’s best-selling Explorer Z (based on the extra-long Fiat/Peugeot panel van). This model gains features previously only available in the more…
2026 NEW MODELS HOBBY unveiled its new top-of-the-range Prestige T low-profile motorhome at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf at the start of September. The new model is said to bring the “luxurious yacht-inspired look” of the Prestige Van campervan (which was launched a year ago) to Hobby’s motorhome range. Initially, the 710 GE is the only layout available, priced from £86,595. Inside, the Prestige T features furniture fronts in Shell White with a “pearlescent sheen”, upholstery in Hobby’s Baro design and flooring in a ship’s deck-style finish. At the rear are two single beds over a garage, while the front L-shaped seating area can also be converted into an extra bed. The large side kitchen and central compact washroom (featuring a swing-wall shower) face each other in the centre of the…
2026 NEW MODELS BIGGEST news from Hymer for 2026 is its new B-Class ModernComfort (B-MC), which it says takes comfort, design and technology to new levels. Based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and equipped with the multi-awardwinning Hymer SLC chassis, the B-MC is little changed outside but has an updated interior in both low-profile ‘T’ (from £108,670) and A-class ‘I’ versions (from £124,820). Externally, there are new locks, new graphics and a flush-fitting hook-up and water filler flaps. Inside, you can choose from Rochefort Nuss or Matara Teak finish, with or without a drop-down bed. Hymer is particularly proud of its new four-zone lighting concept, which intelligently combines functional and atmospheric light sources. New standard features include a compressor refrigerator which is powerful and quiet, electric central locking of the kitchen, a…
2026 NEW MODELS AFTER successive seasons of most campervans coming only in shades of grey, it’s good to see more colourful offerings for 2026 and leading the way is Laika with its special edition Kosmo Supremo, which it says is inspired by luxury sports cars! Choose from Verde Mugello – almost a British Racing Green with Cognac-coloured seating, Azzurro Capri – pale blue with orange Noto ecoleather upholstery, or Arancio Sicilia – bold metallic orange with white Carrara interior. Each version comes with 18in wheels (in black, except for the green exterior which is mated with bronze alloys). All models have a metallic grey grille and matt black graphics, while an overcab sunroof is optional. Based on the six-metre Fiat Ducato with 180hp motor and automatic gearbox, the Kosmo Supremo gets…
2026 NEW MODELS MARQUIS is the UK home of several continental brands which, like the multioutlet retailer, are part of the Frenchowned Trigano Group. These include Benimar and Panama from Spain and Elnagh and Mobilvetta from Italy. Unsurprisingly, there are updates from each. BENIVAN In the Benivan campervan line-up, the 122 layout returns for 2026 alongside the fixed bed 144 and 161 models. This 6.36m Fiat Ducato has a typical UK layout (despite being manufactured in Italy) – front half-dinette, centre galley and washroom, and a rear lounge. It gains a number of improvements along the way, including Isofix and a two-burner hob. BENIMAR The Benimar motorhome range includes Tessoro on Ford, and Primero and Mileo on Fiat. There are changes across all these models for the new season, starting –…
