We have an exciting update from the Zambeze Delta Conservation team! In April 2023, the Waterberg female and Mabula male cheetah met up. Since then, the team has been waiting in eager anticipation to see whether this encounter produced cubs. Cheetah gestation lasts about 92 days, and right on schedule, the Waterberg female started showing signs of denning. One day, while she was out hunting, the den was checked to accurately record the litter size and cub survival. Five beautiful cubs, eyes just starting to open, were found! In the next couple of weeks, they will become more mobile, but they will stay in the den until about six weeks of age.
